Keeping Up with Dental Health in the Summer
Come summertime and all of us let ourselves loose. Most of the people spend time outside and kids also play more outdoor games. Many of the people go for trips with family & friends. Whole routine goes for a toss in the summers and same goes for the dental care. Let us throw some light on few tips to keep your teeth and smile perfect.
Drink Water Instead of Juices & Soft Drinks
Water is one of the best hydrating and cooling drinks. In summers, companies advertise more of soft drinks, which lure most of us as they claim that their drinks are so refreshing, but nothing can beat water. Anyone who drink more of juices and cold drinks instead of water, it can put them at risk for tooth decay. One should have minimum 2 litres of water in a day to stay hydrated and prevent tooth decay.
Forgot a Toothbrush While Traveling?
Going for trips or a vacation can be really exciting and enjoyable. When one is packing for their vacation, it’s quite possible to forget something, which can be as simple as a toothbrush. If one does forget, it’s not that difficult to find a new one in the hotel or any nearby shop. Most hotel always keep extra dental care products like toothpastes and toothbrush available for free.
Don’t Chew on Ice!
Lot of Kids and adults too enjoy chewing Ice in summers as it keeps them cool and it’s something fun. But dentist strictly prohibits chewing Ice, as it is very hard to damage the tooth enamel, which is the outer layer of the teeth that protects the softer materials inside. If you really want to enjoy Ice, pour some in water or any drink.
Dental Check-ups & Cleanings for Kids & Students
Summers are the time when most kids are free as they have off from their schools. This is why their vacations can be utilized in a useful manner by scheduling their appointment for teeth cleaning & check-up. One should choose summer vacations as they won’t have to miss their schools and any other extra extracurricular activities.
