Advanced Dental Technology
At the practice of Susan J. Curley DDS, we are proud to provide the safest, healthiest and most effective treatments possible for our patients. In an effort to do so, we are equipped with advanced, state-of-the-art technology.
iTero® 3D Digital Impressions
iTero® Digital Impression Scanner allows us to take impressions of the patient’s smile in a more effective, efficient and accurate manner. iTero® Digital Impressions are also more comfortable for the patient and require fewer visits to the office.
Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Milling (CAM) also known as CAD/CAM is a software that can help patients and dentists visualize the end result of treatment prior to any procedures. 3D images are taken of the smile, and specialized CAD software is then used to allow the dentist to evaluate and plan new treatment. Once the design has been created, the CAM system is used to fabricate the restoration to the exact specifications of the design.
Digital x-rays are much like traditional x-rays. However, the amount of radiation used and exposed to the patient is dramatically less. Digital x-rays have other benefits as well, including being instant, being easier to view and even reducing chemical waste, protecting our planet.
Laser dentistry allows dentists to provide more effective, safe and healthy treatments options. Due to a laser being used, bleeding, damage and even discomfort are greatly reduced. Treatment time and recovery are also greatly improved.
Digital Intraoral Cameras
Intra-oral cameras allow the dentist and patient to view detailed images of the teeth, gums and overall oral health in real time. This allows the dentist and patient to get a better view of the exact complication.
The Wand® is an advancement in dental technology that allows us to provide computer-regulated anesthetic, allowing for more consistent, accurate and less painful infections. With The Wand®, single tooth anesthesia can even be performed, eliminating widespread numbness often experienced by patients.
Oral Cancer Screenings
Did you know over 10,000 Americans will die from oral cancer alone in 2019? Oral cancer screenings are a quick, comfortable and effective way for your dentist to check for any risk factors of oral cancer. When diagnosed early, the survival rate of oral cancer is greatly improved. We recommend oral cancer screenings at least twice a year.
Ultra-Quiet Electric Handpieces
For many patients, the sound and vibration of a dental drill can produce anxiety. With our ultra-quiet electric handpieces, we can provide treatments with less vibration and noise, making treatment more pleasant and even more efficient.
Along with advanced technology, we are also proud to offer WiFi, flat screen monitors near patient chairs and even iPads to provide a better experience during treatment.
